About the Advisor

Raman Singh, CFP® & EA

Founder, Singh PWM LLC · Flat-Fee Fiduciary · Phoenix, AZ

I started Singh PWM because I spent over a decade watching the industry fail the people it was supposed to serve. Clients were sold products they didn't need, charged fees that compounded against them, and given advice that treated each problem in isolation — investments here, taxes there, estate planning somewhere else entirely. Singh PWM was built to do the opposite: one advisor, one plan, one transparent fee, everything coordinated.

Credentials & Verification

Independently Verifiable Credentials

Financial services is a field where credentials are easy to claim and hard to verify. Here's how to confirm mine.

CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®)

Issued by: CFP Board

Held since: 2016

Requires completion of a Board-registered education program, passage of a rigorous 170-question exam, 6,000 hours of professional experience, and ongoing continuing education. CFP® professionals are held to a fiduciary standard when providing financial planning.

Enrolled Agent (EA)

Issued by: Internal Revenue Service

Held since: 2026

The highest credential awarded by the IRS. Enrolled Agents pass a comprehensive three-part exam covering individual taxation, business taxation, and representation before the IRS. EAs have unlimited practice rights before the IRS — meaning they can represent clients in audits, collections, and appeals.

Memberships: NAPFA, Garrett Planning Network, Fee-Only Network, Flat Fee Advisors, XY Planning Network

What it means: These networks require fee-only or flat-fee practice standards as a condition of membership — no commissions, no AUM arrangements that create conflicts.

Membership is a verifiable commitment to a specific business model, not just a marketing claim.

Experience

Where I've Been — and Why It Shaped How I Practice

I've spent over 14 years working across every major model in the financial services industry — and that breadth is intentional. Early in my career I worked inside large institutions, including time at Fidelity and Morgan Stanley, where I saw firsthand how the product-and-commission model shapes the advice clients receive. Not always dishonestly — but structurally. When compensation is tied to products, advice trends toward products.

Later I worked at Facet and independent RIAs, where I saw a different set of tradeoffs. Better alignment, but often templated advice that didn't account for the full complexity of a client's situation. Tax planning and investment management operating in separate silos. Estate planning happening in a lawyer's office with no connection to the retirement income plan.

Singh PWM was founded in 2016 as a direct response to what I observed in all of those environments. The flat-fee model wasn't a marketing decision — it was the only structure I could build where the advice I give has no financial relationship to what the client buys.

As of 2026, I'm also an Enrolled Agent — which means I handle tax strategy and tax preparation in-house. That integration is rare in independent advisory firms and is the specific capability that makes coordinated retirement tax planning possible for Singh PWM clients. Your withdrawal strategy and your tax return are built by the same person, looking at the same picture, at the same time.

Specialization

What I Actually Do — and Who I Do It Best For

Singh PWM is not a generalist practice. I work with a defined, limited number of clients — pre-retirees and retirees, typically in their 50s and 60s, with $1.5M–$5M+ in investable assets — because the work requires depth and direct involvement that doesn't scale to hundreds of relationships.

Retirement Income Strategy

Building a sustainable income plan that sequences withdrawals correctly, manages sequence-of-returns risk, and doesn't force you to sell at the wrong time.

Tax-Integrated Planning

Roth conversion strategy, RMD planning, IRMAA management, withdrawal sequencing, and Social Security timing — modeled together, not in isolation.

In-House Tax Preparation

As an Enrolled Agent, I prepare tax returns for planning clients. Strategy and filing never operate in separate silos.

Investment Management

Low-cost, tax-efficient portfolio construction and ongoing management — rebalancing, tax-loss harvesting where appropriate, and allocation decisions made in the context of your full income plan.

Estate & Legacy Coordination

Beneficiary reviews, account titling, trust coordination with your estate attorney, and inherited IRA planning for heirs.

Business Owner Planning

Exit strategy, retirement plan selection (Solo 401k, SEP-IRA, defined benefit), and the transition from business income to retirement income.

The Model

Flat-Fee. Fiduciary. Direct.

Flat-Fee

There are three fee structures in financial services: commissions (paid by product manufacturers), AUM (a percentage of assets that grows with your portfolio), and flat-fee (a defined annual or project fee). Singh PWM operates exclusively on flat fees. You know your cost before any work begins. A 1% AUM fee on a $2M portfolio costs $20,000+ per year — and compounds against you. Our annual retainer is $10,000. Our comprehensive one-time plan is $5,000. Hourly work is $300/hour.

Fiduciary

A fiduciary is legally required to act in your best interest — not the interest of a product manufacturer, a brokerage, or a firm's revenue targets. All CFP® professionals are held to a fiduciary standard when providing financial planning. As an RIA, Singh PWM is a fiduciary at all times in the advisory relationship. There is no asterisk on this.

Direct

Every client at Singh PWM works directly with me. There are no junior advisors, no associate planners, no handoffs to a support team. When something changes in your financial life — tax law, markets, a life event — you hear from me directly. That's a deliberate constraint on the size of the practice, and it's non-negotiable.
